For the operator
When legal or an auditor needs a conversation, you request an export scoped to a channel, DM, customer conversation, or a date range, then poll for it and download the file when it is ready, all gated to compliance roles. When a matter arises, you place a legal hold on a single channel or conversation or the whole tenant, and every matching message is frozen and exempt from deletion until you release the hold. Old messages age out automatically on the tenant's retention window, and anything under hold is skipped. When a data-subject request comes in, the person's chat records are gathered along with the rest of their data, and deleted messages keep a tombstone so who deleted what and why stays answerable.
